The sassy little Carolina Wren...

is certainly a bold brassy little bird!!!

Thought I'd throw in a Finch just for fun. haha

This little Wren is fearless and loves to fuss at everything and everyone!

Just thought you might enjoy a few backyard bird shots. Not much time for pics anymore:-(

Autumn Surprise

I was driving down the road and saw a lovely Autumn scene which even included geese.

When I zoomed in a little I was surprised to see something in the foreground that definitely wasn't a goose...and kind of resembled a swan.

Imagine my excitement when I zoomed in even further and discovered it was a rare black swan!

WOW...a black swan...now that's a photo opp if I ever saw one!!!

I learned something else quite interesting when it began to flap its wings...

Their wings are white underneath!!!

What an exciting thing to see on a routine drive home!!!

The contrast between the black and white feathers is really something to behold!

So glad I had my camera along for the drive home on that crisp Autumn day!!!

Autumn Images by James

This is James...my son...and these are his Autumn images.

This was a picturesque farm scene on our way into town.

What a gorgeous tree that caught his eye!

Now who would expect to find beauty on a hog farm!!!

What a nice combination of Falling for Christmas. haha

We diligently searched for deer all over the countryside and all we could come up with was a jackass!!! Well...you can't win them all. hee-hee

We had quite a spectacular Fall this year...for North Carolina!

Just an example of our Autumn country roads...complete with a Heron flying by.

The sad news is the last photo was taken right after he missed a great shot of a hawk on the ground!!! That will teach us to keep our camera's powered up at all times! haha

Fall for Gallberry Stables

This is Gallberry Stables...the reason I first moved to North Carolina...so saddle up and get ready for the tour.

As you can see it was a gorgeous place to have a boarding stable!

I really enjoyed it while I was there and so did my customers...both horses and humans.

The property was lined with Flowering Pear trees...which as you can see are gorgeous!

Not only are they radiant red in the Fall...but have beautiful white blossoms in the Spring!

Of course no stable is complete without our four legged boarders.

Now who wouldn't fall for these handsome boarders!!!

Hope you enjoyed the tour through my old boarding stable...now unsaddle your horse and put it back in the stall!!!

Autumn Splendor in the Carolina's

This was taken in the early morning hours on my commute home from work.

I just can't seem to find the time to enjoy my photography hobby lately.

Now don't laugh...but most of these were taken on my way to the dump with my garbage. haha

Fortunately we have some pretty scenery on the way there!

You're in luck...I spared you pictures of the actual dump! hee-hee

Notice the bird landing at the top of this tree...didn't notice it when I took the photo.

I thought these horses looked good against the Autumn scenery.

We don't have the gorgeous array of colors that you have up North...but...

Hope you enjoyed the Autumn excursion through the Carolina countryside!

Carolina's Spectacular Sky

I think the first thing I learned to love about Carolina...was the awesome sunrises and sunsets!
The beauty sometimes just takes your breath away!!!

Such glorious colors from our Master's palette!

How could anyone doubt there is a Creator??

I thank you Lord for the spectacular light shows you've created for our delight.

A Gift from God at Work!

It has been so hot in North Carolina I've been staying inside! Needless to say...I was going through photography withdrawal!!! You see...I suffer from OCD...Obsessive Camera Disorder. haha On top of that I was working 12 hour shifts this weekend....so imagine my thrill when God flew the photo opp right outside my workplace window!!! God is certainly good!!!

I grabbed my trusty camera...which is always with me...ran to the window and aimed across the street at this beautiful Hawk!

I didn't dare unlock the door and step out...with that Hawk eye and the fact that he would hear me...my only alternative was to shoot through the rather fogged up window.

The Hawk just seemed to sit there and pose...so I was able to take photo after photo...therefore alleviating my withdrawal symptoms...and finally getting my OCD back in control!

I am certainly learning to love my camera with continuous shooting...it's just great for wildlife!!!

I know the Hawk must have spotted me...after all...I was shooting out of a large picture (pardon the pun) window. hee-hee

However it continued to pose...while I continued to click!

What a great and unexpected gift of which I was very thankful for and appreciated beyond words!!!

Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
