Fierce looking little bird, isn't he? That one shot with its mouth open looks like an attacking, screeching yell. Scary...small birds and rodents beware! Where do you find them, Jan?

Nothing like a bird on barbed wire...and a bird with it's mouth wide open on barbed wire. Priceless! Great shots Jan.. keep em coming.

I should have some of the Loggerhead Shrikes around here but I don't recall seeing them. They are the impaler as I recall and stuck their prey on a spike of some kind to eat later.

Was that a yawn or a screech in the third picture? Some great phots of the Shrike and other birds.
