It's So Hard To Cut Those Apron Strings!

Mom keeps an ever watchful eye on her adventurous little ones.

Time to move in and push that one back in the nesting box.

Oh-oh...here comes Mom...I'm in for it now!!!

Get back in there now...

you hear me!!!

Oh well...she's gone now...guess I'll wait here for my meal and get a better look around.

Yikes...here she comes again...and she looks mad!!!

Look mom...just feed me...cause I'm gettin' ready to fly this coop.

Oh good she's got food...this could be my last meal before I leave.

Oh thanks Mom...don't be mad...I gotta leave...this crowded nesting box is for the birds!!!

Oh my...it's so hard to see your young ones spread their wings and leave the nest!!!!!

Feeding The Fearless Little Fledglings

Hey Mom ...where are you?

Guess I'll lean way out so I can find you.

Be patient my little one...I've got your dinner right here!

If you don't stay in there you are going to fall out...now get back in and I'll feed you!!!

My little girl and her siblings are fearless and I'll soon be left with an empty nest!

Guess we humans aren't the only ones who go through the empty nest syndrome!!!

Flycatchers Finally Ready To Fledge

It must be a deep nesting box...cause I'm just now seeing the babies as they are ready to fledge!

This young male is not so patiently waiting for his meal...typical male...huh?

OK mom...where are you with my dinner??? I hear you...now feed me!

It's about time...a frustrated fledgling could starve here waiting for you to get back!

Dad waits in the wings with the next meal to be provided. Pardon the pun. (haha)

Boy...you just can't feed these big babies fast enough!

Alright...hurry up...I'm ready for the next meal!

What now...do I have to sing for my supper???

That does it...guess I'll be going to find my own if you don't hurry up!!!

Whoa...looks a little scary out there...maybe I'll wait just a little longer!!!!

Flycatcher Mates

My Fascinating Flycatchers

Thought you might like to meet my handsome male Great Crested Flycatcher.

He certainly is a handsome one...isn't he?

He's a real man and knows how to bring home the bacon...

or should I say...knows how to bring home the bugs! hee-hee

Here he is even going as far as helping to keep the house clean.

Here comes mother Flycatcher with food for the ever hungry babies.

Daddy is quite active in helping feed the little ones...my what a good daddy!

My pretty little female meditating on motherhood...or just trying to catch her breath. haha

Wow...I'm so excited...my first little glimpse of a baby Flycatcher!!!!

A mother's job is never done!!!

Hope you enjoyed my fascinating Flycatchers as much as I did.

Birds & Blooms

Aww June...the time for birds & blooms

My such a colorful array of birds to go with these blooms!

Just love those colorful Bluebirds & Redheaded Woodpeckers!

Wonder just what it is that attracts them to these flowers???

Could it be the fragrance??

I know...they aren't real blooms...but they are real birds. haha

Yes...and I guess it's not the fagrance.

They certainly aren't looking for nectar!

I guess it would be worms they are looking for.

Who knew you could find worms instead of nectar inside a flower!

Hope you enjoyed Birds and Faux Blooms in June!

More Bluebirds & Redheaded Woodpeckers

Do you think Little Boy Blue could be flying in to make friend's with Woody??...nah!

They are sharing a little better though. Yeah right! haha

I hope they read the little sign about friendship!

After all they will have to share the meal worms...like it or not!

I think Woody is praying before he eats...well...it's a nice thought anyway.
